Audiobahn Hating?

The amp is like cheapest ive seen $2,500 i dont know where this man is coming up with 400 dollars is he crazy and finally sumone agrees that audiobahn is worth it.

Yeah the 5000SPl Is NOT $400. Their 18001DT's are $800 or more. The hi-end HCT's run just over $1000. All of the audiobahn products that i have bought or bought for someone have been well worth it... exept for the 00 series. You might be looking at the used 1997 sales book if you see it for $400 that's more like $4000 for a new ... and that's the cheap price. And BiaBia you know i have to defend audiobahn and yes i have heard of resonance enginering and yes RE does make better subs but audiobahn does make good subs... just gotta know how to install and work with them to get sq. The thing that makes them sound like poo is everybody riding around with audiobahns in pre-fab bandpass boxes while clipping the crap out of thier amps.

First off, I did not say that looks was the MOST IMPORTANT. Second, Have you actually installed and or heard any of audiobahn's top end or comparing what you have heard about. The theory that a rat will follow anyone with a whistle sounds true here. Yes, we just installed two awis-12 in a dodge truck. Thunderous. Trust it. Peep the specs on this sub and tell me that this isn't a monster. Audiobahn has had a bad rep for some reason. I don't know why. The guy with the pyramid and dhd, well some people did ride the short bus you know. For the guy that says 400 on the A5000spl, if you can get it for 400 dollars, I want ten and the name of the place you are getting it. I'm not going to doubt, I am a business man, just want to know where it is you're shopping. I won't doubt the RE. Nice sub. I am saying don't underestimate Audiobahn.

not to add to the uselessness of the thread, but i manage a car stereo shop, and audiobahn reps wanted us to carry their shit, so thats how i have the price sheets. Maybe it was a typo on the sheet, and maybe also their rep was mistaken, but i specifically asked why this amp was so cheap. He told me it was because they used old boards or some dumb shit. Either way, audiobahn isnt the worst shit out there, i would just never own it, and yes i have done many many installs with them, so i do talk from experience.

If you run a car audio shop and you obviously know all that you know. Why are you trying to sell your stuff on here. I run a car audio business myself and I chose audiobahn, eclipse, dei, phoenix gold, and diamond. I do have a little bit of knowledge of the subject. A typo? I deal with audiobahn reps 2-3 times a week and they would denounce any such statement, I'm sure.

So now we let the bias come into play ... nice work boys.

ss3079 I like the system you have chosen. Beautiful setup. Why bother arguing against audiobahn? Why don't you just take your system and be proud, let the MEN have this argument.
I'm not arguing against anything ...

My whole point is that people need to broaden their range of subs they have listened to before forming any type of opinion. Saying Soda A is better than Soda B when you haven't drank Soda B is a very easy thing to do //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I won't even touch on the comment of letting the men handle this argument. Elementary, and as childish as it gets.

Let your ears do the talking.

There's nothing to underestimate with Audiobahn. Their top of the line models are par, at best. Reliability is quite shotty, seen many 'bahns fry well under rated power.

Haven't come across a 'bahn amp that puts out what it claims to...at proper voltages...

There are plenty other woofers out there that I would take over Audiobahn, and I have experience with Audiobahn, a good amount of it.

The Immortal series is decent for SPL purposes, but once again, there are plenty other more capable woofers out there.

P.S.- miss me Steve? Looking foward to your visit later, don't forget the red panties and the Tommy Tutone vinyl.

Emilion, I've missed you dearly.

I'll stop by shortly. Preperation is a must.

- George ... Bush...all.

I am very late to the topic, but I used to run a store that carried Audiobahn, and I have the experience with them that I dont need to hate them I already know what they can do, but ok all around but thats all I will say for now

Just my opinion again. Everything 05 series and above are good, but the 00 series and below are not good. As for burning up subs on thier rms or not thier rms ... i have never been able to do that, on any amp. I hooked up one of my 1005X's ( 900w rms) to one of my 18001DT's @ 1 ohm ... it got HOT, but no damage occured. and i played a full bass heavy song for 4:35. I did that so that my shop would replace my X with a Q. Since it didn't blow with that i just plugged it to the wall... it didn't blow until about 4 mins later... even then the tinsel wire was the only thing that broke. I have never had any problems from any sub 05 series and above... but the 00 series sucks arse. Audiobahn does make good speakers, maybe not as good as RE or some other companies but they do make some good competitive subs. And as for thier rep... RE would have a bad rep of shitty SQ too if they put all of their speakers in prefab bandpass boxes. I have never run my 05's or suggested running any med to high end speakers at thier rated because they are supposed to go in ported boxes and that would destroy them becuase i make the boxes as big as possible. But the speakers can definately take the rms heat wise. I have never had a failure of any speaker and i have had two of these speakers for over a year.
