I have two 12 inch Alpine SWR-1240D Type R's that are 4 ohm + 4 ohm, that have the power handling of (RMS/Peak) of 300W/1000W

Someone showed me this amp. The Audiobahn A8001DQ. http://www.crutchfield.com/S-X9SgWU2I7pR/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?i=037A8001DQ

Now if I run my wires inside my sub box, parallel for dual 4 ohm coils the total load would be 1.0 ohm. So I would be using this amp at 800 watts x1 @ 1 ohm mono. Im told this would really work good for me and make my subs hit hard. Anyone got comments about Audiobahn? I heard good things.

I have to say that Audiobahn is really a top brand out there and their specs speak for themselves. I have a book and their top of the line amps are2400 watts(A2300HCQ),2 channel high current amps rated at 300 w/ch @ 4 ohms stereo, 600 w/ch @ 2 ohms stereo, and 1200w @ 1 ohm stereo, and 2400 w @ 1 ohm mono all with fully electronic cross overs and bass boost and more(for $543.00 wholesale). Their subs are pretty impressive too. There's an 18"(AWT18X) with a 480 oz. magnet, 4000 R.M.S./8000 peak, frequency response of 20 Hz-500Hz, 5" avc, dual 4 ohm(1 or 4 ohm operation), bolt tight motor structure, and also have 2" surrounds. They're also patented.($715.00ea. wholesale).

And they're also chrome for extra look appeal. What do you think about them. If you need all the specs on the amp you have(A8001DQ) don't hesitate to drop a line.

Hmm.. Im so confused right now. I emailed crutchfield asking about hooking up the audiobahn amp that I want to my current subs. They say no it won't give me a 1 ohm load even if I wire up my subs different. Can someone help me out here? Im gonna freaking flip out. I been spending this whole day trying to find a amp. What I would really like is a 2 channel amp that pumps out 500-600 watts. That way I don't have to re-wire my subs...

First of all your amp is1 channeled. Your subs are dvc at 4 ohms each coil. If you wire in parallel to one coil and connect to the other coil from that same sub that would give you a 2 ohm load right. Ok, if you wire in parallel from that coil to the other subs coil that would give you a 1 ohm load. Make sure to wire to the other coil of that sub. Let me know if I'm wrong. By the way, if you have instant message on yahoo messenger we could communicate a lot faster and solve this minor problem Do you?

wire as follows

1ohm mono load

4ohm mono load

hmm... Can someone tell me if this is right?

Im told if I wire it like this, this will work.

If using Dual 4 ohm coils the total load would be 1.0 ohm

for the love of god, the picture i posted above, will it work? Someone tells me if I wire this way, it will give me a 1 ohm load?

Im really going nuts. I need a amp quick. I been looking for a amp so freaking long for my subs. Im really loosing my patience.

that will be a one ohm mono load....i would stick w/ the 4ohm mono load unless you upgrade your amp to a mono amp....but then again you have a sterio amp...let me see what i can come up w/ for you

edit:

4 ohm mono load

ok disregard what i just said....i read the post wrong.....just wire in parallel and get a one ohm mono load.....you shouldnt have any problems so long as you dont have the gain set to high...good luck.....ps sorry to have been so confusing....

But isnt that for DUAL 2 ohm voice coils??? Cause I have Dual 4 ohm voice coils.

It will still work? If so im gonna buy one of these AUDIOBAHN A8001DQ amps... Its driving me insane.

Your diagram was right IceBeNot. 4 4 ohm coils = 1 ohm parallel.

Goddyd4me you always confuse people with your wiring shenanigans. You post like 3 different ones, and none of them are right. Its 2 4 ohm dvc subs wired to 1 ohm mono, every coil wired parallel.

This wiring will give you a 1 ohm load. Just make sure you have the power to run at such a low ohm or you will have power/current problewms and can damage your amp and subs.

Good Luck!!
