Audiobahn A8000t Protection Light

Hi I have an Audiobahn A8000t 1600 watt amp. My brother gave it to me for my subs and i have it all set up correctly. When i go to try out my 12" subs with it, no sound comes out of my subs and there is a red protection light that is on. all the gains and levels are set to the lowest setting. Any idea's on what's going on?

Its an Audiobahn.
In all seriousness how do you know you have it setup correctly? Pictures of the amp install?
Here is the set up on the amp and the headunit. The Red power line is going from the battery through the firewall and down the side of the car to the amp. The ground wire is grounded to a screw in the trunk with a ring terminal.

Looks like there are multiple frayed wires. Clip those and make sure they arent touching any of the casing or each other.

Outside of that the amp may just be blown and its time to replace it. It does happen and sometimes randomly.

Post Dumping/Trashing someones equipment isnt right??.In fraction seems to be needed/in order.Breaking the Rules.Thats not right man. Some Folks cant spend money on Masconi/ect.Im betting that you may have your ohm load too low for it to go into protect. That amp is only stable at 2ohms if I can remember.Ill have to look the info up on it to be certain, but I ran one at one time, and @2ohms without any issues.Nothing wrong with owning, and running an Audiobahn amp by any means.id run one before id run a several mentioned amps. What sub/subs are you running, ohm load, or better yet,Model, and Brand, and how many, to know the final ohm load that you may need to be at for the amp to perform

Please show me where I said anything negative about Audiobahn.

Though, it sounds like the amp may not be any good.Unhook the sub/speaker wires, then turn the HU back on to power up the amp,to see if it goes back into RED/Protect.If it does, the amp may need repair,if it stays GREEN, then you have a sub wiring issue/bad ohm load that the amp is not capable of handling.Another simple trick/way I test amps from sellers on the go, is to take it to the battery, and hook up the remote with the red/poss connection, and run a wire to the poss connection on the car battery, and the ground to ground..if it lights up good, then I know that I can work with the amp,or it may be working properly

Beginning statement..Whats meant by..(Its an Audiobahn?)Like its an Issue with why he has an issue with whats going on at hand

you know damnn well what you meant by its an audiobahn

So when i take out the speaker wires, the amp still keeps the Red protection light on. The Green power light doesnt even turn on. If i take out the remote wire or the RCA's then the protection light turns off.

If this means anything, my brother used to use this single amp for his whole system, 2 subs, 2 6x9's, and 2 6.5's all from Infinity Reference Series. So it could be getting a low ohm load? I appreciate the help audiobaun!

OP, nothing wrong with running an old audiobahn amp.id run one before id run audiopipe that is recommended by several on here.As a matter of fact,i still run a set of Old USA made Audiobahn AW1008t 10in 1000 rms subs, and still SLAMM after 13 yrs! Running them at the moment, and I have an A4125HCT, that still Kicks AZZ!,Check the model #on the sub/subs,and what brand, and ohm,so someone can better understand what ohm load you may be at

when you are doing this/removing the speaker wires,is the amp still on?If so, remove the remote, and wait a few min, and then return the remote wire,if it still in fact returns red, without the load, then more than likely, the amp needs attention/repaired.Stating,that you are getting power, and seems to be grounded in fact

I did not see any Frayed wiring in these pics here, that you have posted.Everything looks to be well in tact
