I was driving down the road the other night and I noticed a thump in my sub. The volume was about 50% and the thump was like a full volume sound. I turned off the head unit and it continued doing it from time to time. It doesn't happen all the time but seems to happen more often when I go over a speed bump or hit a rough spot in the road. It started doing it more and more and I started noticing that when this happened, the voltage gauge would drop drastically. The next day, I started smelling a burt wire odor in my vehicle. I pulled over and pulled the wire from the under hood fuse block to kill the power to the amp and obviously my problem went away. My set up is a RE SE/X 12D4 sub and a Treo 750.1 SSX amp. I have 0 gauge wire from the battery and a 250 amp fuse block under the hood. I'm a little worried about this now because of the burnt smell from the other night. Any help would be greatly apreciated.
