Nope. The outer edge of a circular woofer has the same force at every point along the diameter based on the center of the cone. A square woofer does not have the same force. The corners are weaker because of it hence the ribs in the corners of the cone and the surround on square woofers. This adds weight to the moving mass.read someone say it's got somethin to do with the square cone being heavy in order to make up for it being a weaker structure than a circle. the added weight makes the transitions between notes sloppy? idk man, i'd take an SA cuz you can recone it easily
As mentioned before the only positive to a square woofer is you can literally save baffle space in the sense you can butt gaskets right up next to each other. You cant do that with a circle woofer without leaving a gap.
