I'm looking to add a 10" sub to my 07 A4 and have a few newbie questions. I'm looking for a clean sounding 10" sub and I am decided between getting a JL 10w3v3-4 or a Kicker S10L7 (opinions?). In my past two vehicles I have used aftermarket head units but I would like to go with a stock HU in this vehicle if possible and I was wondering if the amp can be wired into the stock head unit with an external bass knob to control subs only and not door speakers?

jl over the kicker for sure, and yes you can buy a rca splicer that you splice right into the speaker wire coming from the HU.

Thanks for the reply. I have the chance to pick up a JL 10W6 for pretty cheap...should I get this over the 10w3v3? Also, what is a cheap bass knob...

ya man the w6 for sure no comparison.and you dont want a bass knob, you want like a remote gain control.

From looking online gain knobs are model specific? What gain knob would work with an Infinity 1600A?
