I knew it wa bad when I ran Command Line and tried to use CD into a couple folders that had my install files. Denied.

Whatever it is, it is NASTY.

Go to filehippo.com and grab SuperAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes, the free versions. Run one, delete everything it finds, then run the other. Make sure you update them both before you run them.

Next, update and run your antivirus.

Should get you clean. If not PM me what issue you are still having and we will look at a few things.

I use firefox, and the same java pop up happened to me. Just no computer crash. Guess all the ***** viruses on my computer was too much confusion.

Oh Macs can get infected, so can Linux, Unix, or any other operating system you can name. There is just a much smaller userbase for those operating systems, so not much reason for spammers to write malicious code for them.

Playing? Tried anything in safe mode yet? Got a boot disk with some tools on it or know how to make or download one? Not sure what you mean by playing... easier to clean it up than blow it off and re-install.

There are a lot of things I could walk you through trying, but with all the "pros" on here that want to dog people out I don't know if you'll try them. If you want some help, PM me. If not, good luck, hope you get it clean. I'll remote in and fix everything for you for 60.00 PayPal, but I have no problem walking you through fixing it for free if you want to get your hands dirty and learn a little bit.

So I got on the computer earlier and was looking for a site in the history bar and hit CA by accident. Wasn't on the site but maybe 30 seconds when Java opened on it's own, and I tried to shut it down. No dice. Comp is now totally infected, with what, not sure. Can't even get into stuff in Safe Mode.

For the record, I am posting this from my Iphone. I can't run command prompts for folders containing installers (including the exe for Malwarebytes, conveniently enough), created an administrator account, etc.

Mods/Goob, please look into this. I have to re-install now because of it.
