attn: hifonics bxi owners

for those who own the hifonics brutus bxi line amps, id like to know how high do you have to set your gains/level to get its full potential? do you have any problems overheating?

i ask because it seems like i have to have my gains 3/4 up to see its full potential (bxi1606d) with my 6.5v pre-amp output deck. my amp tends to get pretty heated after 1 hour use but never goes into protect mode though. when i had my bx series brutus amps (older generation brutus lineup), i only needed my gain at halfway to get its full potential

I set my gains to match my other stuff without clipping i dont "max" my equipment out

Do you have the bass remote plugged in? If so, unplug it. The bass remote on the older Brutus amps and the amps they've made in the last couple of years work different.

i don't know if mine gets hot, but i don't think i'd mind if i had to get a new amp

and my gains are right around the 1/2 way point, set with an o-scope

and who cares how far you have to turn the dial compared to your old one, if it's set right it's set right
