I'm not really "complaining" but more of pointing out the obvious since anytime I come back someone else is *****ing about it... I'm not naming names cause I don't even know all the new mods... Hell half of the people "elligible" to become mods have been banned or just don't even participate here anymore... come on....
The last thing I'm saing btw... is that I'd be a better mod.. never once claimed to be.. however... banning people or deleting posts (as i've seen already here) and calling them a *** in the same comment for reason is a bit childish and really has no place here.

some of them did leave as mods, but later. after they realized just what this place has become...and to be honest...what it means to be a moderator here.
to be honest, i don't have a clue. this place has gone to hell, no two ways about it. but those are the names, off the top of my head, that i would like to see as mods. also, yourself, jmac, and a few others, wouldn't be bad choices to replace the ones that aren't here. but my honest opinion is this, and take this however you wish, but no offense is intended...

the entire system/forum needs flushed, and rebuilt. the mod staff, the forum, the members, everything. and start fresh. this place is too far gone. any attempt at changing it is seen as being "nazi" or power mad, or something. lose all post counts, everything, start new. have goob assign an active admin, a permanet moderator staff (and no, i don't need to be one) based upon the advice of the admin he selects and establish a firm set of rules and enforce them. but trying to turn this place around is like masterbating with a cheese grater, while somewhat pleasant and potentially rewarding, it's just mostly painful and bloody.

i know that's not going to happen, and this place is a lost cause, which is why i don't bittch about it much. it just flat doesn't do any good, and won't as long as goob stays disassociated with the forum and there is no active admin to back up the mods.

I agree 100%. Go on with the day to day grind... no real problems. Only problems happen when a whiney thread appears.

I wish I could find the original thread... I thought I saw it earlier, but am a bit drunk atm and don't feel like searching... We initiated a "flaming thread" or forum... which was specifically meant for that purpose. It was mostly about having fun and bullshitting around.
There is another thread here somewhere as well... that goes into great detail on exactly how the forum would wind up in a few years.... sadly.. it's pretty much 100% come true... another thread I will have to find later on.

We can discuss this until the end of time, but it accomplishes nothing.

Here are the facts:

1) Moderators have the power and, therefore, have the most control. Regular members can b*tch and moan all they want, it's not going to change anything.

2) People have varying opinions, tolerances, etc. and will disagree on various issues. People make mistakes, therefore mods will also make mistakes on occasion.

3) Moderators are people, we disagree w/ regular members and even w/ other mods. Members will disagree w/ moderators on how the forum should be run.

4) The moderation staff cares about this forum. Most of us have been here for several years and have contributed an enormous amount of time and effort in an attempt to make this forum a better place.

5) Actions taken by moderators are, for the most part, made in an attempt to make the forum a better place. It may not always turn out that way, but that's life.

To summarize, give us a break. We try our best to do an essentially thankless job on a high-traffic public forum for free while dealing w/ an adminstrator who doesn't even dignify our questions, requests, or concerns w/ an answer half the time. The only reason why any of us are still active moderators is because we still care about the forum. Most of the other mods who left either stopped caring or grew tired of the constant bullshit we have to put up w/. I myself have had to take several breaks over the years because it started to get to me when nothing over the internet really should.

It's an exaggeration to express frustration. For example, if you tell someone "If you don't shut the fvck up, I'm going to fvcking kill you," no one, including the person you're "threatening," is expecting that you're actually going to kill them, but they get the message that you want them to shut the fvck up.

I thought the same thing watching cops last night. The cops had this guy in hand cuffs, and the guy said I'm going to kill you. The cop said that's good enough for me, and charged him with threatening an officer. The guy was a homeless guy sleeping in some field or something.

I agree I will never get voted in. I have made too many enemies. I responded to your names by saying hardly any of them are active. I haven't seen zane in at least a couple years, bigbassman used to be a mod and I haven't seen him in forvever, frosty and ss are still mods but left, helotaxi used to be a mod but seems to go on hiatuses. Denim still lurks around and squeak has said he didn't want to be a mod. It's silly to institute people who aren't here as mods.
