I love all the people who are not moderators... telling everyone what a moderator should and shouldn't do.

There is NO constitution and bylaws for moderators, there is no handbook, there's a TOS and that's it...
So, where does ANYONE get the authority... or these universal rules of what a moderator should and shouldn't do?

And to once again re-itterate what my point was to begin with... Anytime I come back there are already 50people actively posting about how the mods are being dickholes. They just seem to do whatever the phukk they want and when it comes time to vote for mods again, the "rules" change for everyone on the forum once again. I do NOT want to be a mod here. I do have an opinion on how Goob once again ****ed it up when he could have gotten it right the first time, and I don't give a flying phukk what the current "mods" and top posters think about it.

i lurk, maybe post and leave. i'm hooked and have been hooked for a long time. and no, i don't think post count should have a **** thing to do with mod status. but goob took the easy way out. aww well, can't change that. move on, and i did. this place went downhill and i left. yeah, i'll throw in an opinion here and there, get into an argument or two (those can be fun) and leave for awhile. that's how i roll here.
in the end, jmac is right. as is njism. but i do think that instead of the bullshit elections, the staff be permanent and if one mod wants to leave,step down or a majority vote puts them out, that person nominates three candidates to replace him/her.(unless voted out themselves, at which point the latter of what's following takes place) the rest of the mod staff either votes on of those three in or a majority mod opinion elects one from the member pool. this way you have a consistant mod group and by ruling with the majority, goob isn't needed and bs mods can be put out and their powers/abilites are removed.
but that's just me.

I wish there would have been nominations, each moderator could pick 3 users... regardless of post count... who they think would be good replacements.
Since we've done the job, we might be able to pick some half decent replacements.
Not just a popularity vote by the current n00bx... and people who probably won't even be around during the duration of the people being moderators.

Good idea in theory, but you would still have people complaining about how this mod picked their friend, and that mod picked picked their's, etc...

It is a friggin forum for christ sakes. The mods do what they think is their job and we do our best to aggravate them. I see no problems in that.
