Attention Superior Sound

Duralining / Rhinolining is very common, its not entirely a sound deadener as more of a surface finish / sealer. It sprays on at about 150 deg F and dries instantly onto wood, metal, glass....just about anything. On wood its especially tough, at least ive found. Ive even lined SPL boxes with this stuff and had great success vs. using fiberglass resin. Plus it looks 10x cooler.

how much does it cost to do like a 1 cube box, about, im sure every place is different

When I was young and stupid and thought it'd be cool

I built a box that was entirely too small for two 15's sealed in a single cab F-150, 1.5^ft, roughly, per sub and had two 2515's from DD in there

Anyways, I had it covered in Line-x, and I"m here to tell ya that the box NEVER leaked, just MAKE SURE that all of your caulk/liquid nails or whatever you use is dried before you take it to apply, otherwise there's a chance the lining might react with it or something bad could happen(at least that's what I argued with them about for an hour lol)

If you can make everything real smooth, it adds a nice little touch //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Got a few questions...Is the one professionally applied waterproof? What about the kind in a spray can?

I know the ones that are applied professionally are waterproof, there's no cracks or anything for it not to be, if you go over it and make hte box smooth, fill in the holes where the screws are(if you countersink, which I suggest) then it comes out real nice and real clean

I didnt countersink and I didnt smooth it out, and you could tell it, but it still looked cool

For my two 15 box it cost me around 50 bucks and I picked it up the next afternoon

Wow... that looks really hard to do + alot of overspray. He should use a repirator too, wouldn't want my lungs to look like the bed of a truck //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

no actually is patheticallly easy, there is no need for a respriator too, the material isnt very airborne (despite the looks of the pics), in fact they're not even required to use a high volume filtration fitler or anything, just some fiberglass filters exhausted to atmosphere.

It typically costs me $20 a box to do this, since there is no pot life for the process I get done. Its 3 part mixed while is sprayed so it doesnt require any waste. Win-win situation.

In fact all this talk fo this agian makes me wanna take my new box for my jeep to get sprayed!
