Attention Sundown e8 users

I've got a e8 with sewn leads one of them has broken off the cone is this a easy fix or does it require a recone.

if the leads actually burned then youll need a recone

The rl-i 8 that I reconed has e8 softparts in it. The coil is much shorter than the original so I would not throw 500 at it.

I have seen this on a few of the woofers. This is a case where as Jacob said the spider was stretched to a point where the mechanical limit was reached and the lead tore.

Nope. The single spider comes with the leads sewn on -- would have to cut them off of one to stack them. Qts would get quite high with double spiders on the E8.

Jacob, when the new e8's come out would it be possible for me to get those e8 softparts for a recone for the RL-i?

The new SA-8, if that is what you mean, will be out next month at some point... parts will probably work in the RL-I if it is a 2" coil.

Yeah that is what I was referring to.

Sounds good to me if it will work, I don't have a clue, I will let woofer chime in on that one.

Since I am local it shouldn't be a problem once some recones come in for the new SA-8's for me to come pick one up.

you could still stack the spiders like fi dose cause they are flat. i know that isnt the bast because they do rub seen fi subs with problems. just seams like people are playing these for spl more than daily listening. the coil looks like it will hold 500-600 easy...

Sounds great. If it blows I might just buy an SA-8.

What would you charge to recone it? Just labor not the actual recone.(Unless you already know price of a recone?)

for most subs, if you buy a recone from me the labor is included at no extra charge. If you have a recone and just need the labor done then it will depend on the type of sub. Pm me for details.
