Attention Sundown e8 users

shouldnt have to do this...... reason why i got rid of my e8's. great drivers when they work!
but cool deal MAN! thats kool that u will check the woofers out for us!
90% of the drivers sold new are still working, actually. There are MANY hundreds of E8s out there -- with a majority of non-rebuilt units being sold off of the major forums.

I noted on the drivers with non-woven leads there were no lead failures -- but the rate of QC failures was way too high from lead slap (these are the ones we pulled aside and Mike sold as re-built).

The tied down flat leads eliminate that but will stress and break when the spider rolls are actually stretched out -- not just going to the linear limit of the spider, but actually stretching them out and flattening the rolls.

The compliant spider is great on the E8s for low-end performance but cannot withstand consistent over-excursion as it will stretch out. The motor has enough clearance to stretch the spider without bottoming out the coil so users don't *know* what was going on up until the leads break. The surround also does not limit throw at all.

It's important to use a sub-sonic below tuning on the E8s and to always stick to no larger than the suggested box size as they don't show warning signs of fatigue until past the limits.

hey limit the drivers as you must, just make sure they produce DEEBEEZ lol.
"OMG JACOB WHY WONT MY E8 PLAY SUB 20hz WITH ONLY 1000WATTS ON IT?!?!?!"
I did that test. an e8 with 1k at 20hz... The first part to fail after about 20 minutes was the surround. The cone tore right through it. very sturdy drivers.

I got an e8 in a 4th order bandpass on 300w rms and when I try to play mid 30s, or low 30s it sounds like its bottoming out. I turn it down a bit to where it doesnt do it anymore, what could it be?

I think it is a little too big to be honest, but the sealed chamber isnt really sealed up 100% yet, where I ran the wires through its loosing alot of back pressure as I dont have any caulk right now to fix it.

Heres a video though.

I suggest no more than 0.3 sealed.
