Attention grillers! What would you recommend?

Thanks for the replies. Seems to be split.

My parents have both as well and have to admit, I love the smell and taste of the charcoal. They did just tell me they spend close to 300 smacks a summer just in charcoal and lighter fluid. So might just be cheaper to go gas for now and maybe pick up a weber down the road.

Might get the uni-flame gas grill for now.

I take it you have to buy those heating bricks seperate?

Been a while since I used a gas grill. And most all tanks are universal correct? My dad says he has a couple tanks, just needed filled.

Eugenics, I sold my house a couple summers ago. Believe it or not, I have more room in my apartment, which is over 1000sqft. Most people think it is a condo, but it isn't.

Sad thing is we need more room and will be putting the profit I made off that house I owned to test later this year or next. Depends.

GAy! Buy a $40 square charcoal one. =]

Edit:

Cheap gas grills ****. They do not provide adequate heat to properly sear the meat that youre cooking. When you cant sear the outside... all of your juices cook out.... thats bad. They also end up giving you shitty hotspots in the grilling area. Until you can figure out where they are, have fun.

My wife bought me a $200 gas grill. I gave it away soon after I built this charcoal one. =]

Get a cover too. Well spent $15 or so.

Our proudly Made In China Uni-Flame is decent; we only use one burner because normally we are only cooking for two.

Used to have charcoal, but time and patience are two things I have not.

Yeah, did you have any trouble putting it together? A lot of the reviewers are saying the directions sucked! Saying it took 2-3 hours to put together. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

I am patient for most part, just when you are cooking for 5 somtimes it wears thin, lol!

I use gas, what I usually do is buy the $100 cheapass propane grill from walmart or target and use it for 2-3 years and toss it and get another one. Thought about getting a nice Weber or something but honestly it does cook a little better but not worth 3x the price to me.

As for putting them together I don't think I have ever had one that took more than 30 minutes from the time I opened the box till the time I was cooking steaks //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Would like to try a smoker sometime, I live in a condo so we don't have much room but I saw someone the other day had one that was fairly small that would probably work for me.

Listen to this man

If all you have is 150 you better just get the biggest, most nicest charcoal grill you can because for 150 on a gas grill you will have some very inferior parts, especially the burners,i just bought a last years kenmore model for 400.00 bucks and it has a 10 year burner warranty,I think to get a good gas grill you need to spend at least 400 unless you get a small one also mine has 1070 sq. inches cooking area
