Looking for either a gas grill or a charcoal grill. Kinda up in the air as I really want a charcoal, but I live in an apartment complex with deck patio's above me and don't want to leave a big black mark on it.

What grill's do you guys use? Trying to stay 150 and under for a decent one.

Also what do you think is easier to maintain in cost and product?

Parents recommeded me to get a gas grill, but I loved their charcoal grill. I could always move it further away from the patio as I am on the bottom floor.

So far I like the uni-flame deluxe for a budget charcoal grill.

Any ideas? I know there has to be some grillers on here. I am sure some of ya have some nice ones as well, but I got out of the game when I moved from my house and well I am itching to grill a lot this summer.

Charcoal will alway be the best for flavor, PERIOD. After stating that, I must confess that I use a Propane grill primarily and only bust out a weber for some ocasions.

Get a propane for convenience. Get aluminum screen to cover the built in diffusers, then put a layer of lava rock on top of the screening. This will provide absolute diffusion of heat. When feeling like adding flavor, just throw mesquite briquettes in the lava rock for flavor.

I built my own. Im sure you might now want to do such a thing but I figured Id show it off! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I stole a big piece of steel pipe and some 1/2" plate. I went to the local metal place and got some scrap expanded metal and angle iron. About 40 hrs of work, lots of welding and grinding and some high heat grill paint later... MY GRILL! this fvcker weighs about 300lbs!

I've grilled and smoked some of the best food oIve ever cooked on this thing! It's deep and wide enough to smoke all day with it, but when I just want a few quick burgers I have a drop in charcoal basket that allows me to use a small amount of coals that are up closer to the food. I can fit ribs, potatoes, a few brats and some corn in there all at once! =]

I hate gas grills. They taste like shit! This charcoal grill was worth every hour of work I put into it!
