The lowest daily rating I have heard of for the APX (not XX) is 3k, the highest is 6k, and the most common answer is 5k. I wish I had the experience to support either claims, but I don't //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif But I do know that I was told by an Atomic representative that it can handle 5k (the APX). If they underrate the potential for the sub on burps, than I see no reason why they would lie about the daily rms rating. They are annoying as all fuck to deal with and hard as hell to get ahold of in the first place, but they quoted me a good honest price for a recone, and told me what size box to use for it (which matched what others have said as well). They may have poor customer service, but I do believe they are honest...

Randy Mesa is the one to deal with there, Wu not so much.....

I had the 4" APXX, suspension was stiffer than my Wardens. Hell you could have probably stood on that sub and it would barely move. I think 3krms is realistic for the 3", 5k, not so much.... Super Stany would be the one to answer these questions, imo....

Nobody here has any personal experience with the sub at 5k daily though, so NOBODY is right, not even me. And I have no idea why you said I said that it would take 5k for 1hour. I never said that. I can't even stand running 1k for an hour at a time full tilt. That's not a realistic "daily" timeframe for me. In a proper enclosure though, it may be able to take that. But that's a near impossible feat for any sub, period.

It will not take 3,000 clamped watts for long with a 4-layer 3" coil -- likely not even for 5 minutes if it was tested on my rig @ 60 Hz.
