I don't know much about atomics, but are the apx's any good? I plan on putting 2000 watts each to 'em. I currently have two treo ssx 15's, but I'm selling them to fund the atomics. Does this sound like a particularily bad idea? From what I've read, they'll handle 2k watts with ease, but I dunno. Would I be terribly underpowering them? Would they be much louder than my treo 15's? How big of an enclosure do they need? Anybody know?

they will take a lot of power daily. it may laugh at 2k daily depending on how stiff your spider is and all that. it should get pretty loud though, but if possible i would atleast double that power. if you only have 4kw..why not just get one?

Yeah that's what I thought. The guy selling it said he had a usamps 4000x on each! My thought was to eventually do two 4k watt amps, but until then, if it's not gonna sound too good, then I should maybe look into something else. Thanks bro. Anybody else?

Would the atomics hit harder than 4 12" kicker l7's with the same 4K watts? (another possibility)

I have one atomic apx 18 I just use mine for SPL only. I did have it in some odd boxes just for daily heck of it. Sounded bad ***. I have mine powered by a HK4000D. and YES in the right box right power both of thoses setups have nothin on the atomic subs. just my opinion

If you take that and put better glue on the voice coil and change the gap, it'll have better performance...as some have stated...aR-Dee
