i get where your coming from and for retail price new i would go with sundown any day but for the price i got the atomic for i coudnt turn it down ...not to mention i called atomic earlier and the said a 3000.1 new would cost me about 3900.......i was like wtf!!!!
I don't know who you talked to but the 3000.1 suggested retail is $1800.00 and it is 1ohm stable with a 5 year warranty. You could buy the 7500.1 for $3600.00 The Sundown and the Atomic is the same AMP the only different is sundown is running on a 3 year old circuit design and the Atomic has updated it design to be more efficient under heavy double kick drum abuse.

Also the Sundowns Subs called the night shade is an Atomic Apocalypse

The Night Shade 12" cost $630.00 retail and comes only in dual 2 ohm or dual 1 ohm

The Apocalypse cost $340.00 retail and comes in single 4 ohm, Dual 2 ohm, Dual 4 ohm, Dual 1 ohm

Also this sub been under the names of Digital Designs, Image Dynamic, MMats juggernaut, Eclipse Titanium, Kove, some U.S.A built Kenwood, FI, SSA, Sundown, and a few more brands I am not aloud to talk about.

Unless the have a factory there just a marketing company!! We all know how marketing company's go under as fast a most people change there socks.

As for warranty problems it is usually the dealer that has not ordered the re-cone kit or sent back the product for warranty. I have been using Atomic for over 10 years and have never had a problem with them at all.

You are so wrongly informed it is not even funny. Wow, now your saying SSA had an Atomic built sub. Haha, I didn't know that, I must have been too busy doing marketing with Jacob to know what we were selling.

Well I went and picked up the Atomic 3000.1, and let me just say, it is a sexy amp.

I pulled the cover off of the bottom to expose the guts and everything looks in good order.

I'll have to get a Sundown 3000D from a friend to compare the guts, i.e, mosfets, power supply, etc etc..

But everything looks as stout as the Sundown...might be a lesser or more quality board, who knows..but I'm going to test both on my build, so I will have resuslts as soon as my wall is finished, and I get everything installed. I should have test results by late January..

Yes I too have heard that all major amplifier manufacturers are now moving to this ideology - the KDS (Kick Drum Standard). Its very, very important in the design of Class D amplifiers and a special 5 volt higher logic chip has been integrated into the design of the preamp stage of the motherboard.

This must be a new deal for you to be assembling your subs in house, but gluing cones to baskets still just makes it an Assembly line.

Lets take a look at the factory pics of you turning your magnets, or better yet lets take a look at you finishing a basket before you assemble it.

Should we pop the factory name in taiwan that produces you boards along with most of the markets boards???

I may be wrong on model vs. model from the back it looks like a BTL not an Apocalypse. Which is an old Atomic sub that was very good but since then has been replaced with new technologies.
