Tapping the activations input twice to ground will do the same thing as hitting the remote start on the remote... he tried that and it didn't work.

I work monday, thursday, friday, saturday usually... but I work at the Saginaw location. Make sure the ribbon cable is plugged in all the way on both ends... and check them with a multimeter. I've saw a few times it looks like they are plugged in all the way... but they aren't... and that causes the almost exact same symptom you're talking about.
Did you try cutting the brake wire, physically grounding out the neutral safety wire?? instead of useing a switch... and cutting your hoodpin wire? and seeing if it would start?

yeah i tried all or that i will check the ribbon cable again. how to i meter it? just stick the meter lead in the 12v slot and see if its getting power. i guess if that doesnt work i am gonna order a new one from the site get it and swap the brain out and send it back. cheeky bastard i know but gotta do what i gotta do.

well i just got the new unit and swapped the brain in and got the same results nothing, not even tapping the activation wire twice. so i am pissed off. probly means a wiring issue on my behalf. so i guess what i will do it take it to a shop and have it checked out and if nothing good turns out have buy a new unit at full price from the shop and sell this one. yeah!!! any more ideas. shyne i know you wanna work on this one for me i can come up to the shop some time when u work. let me know.

my buddy is coming over tomorrow morning to check it out he used to do installs and does rs's still. if that doesnt fix it the shop it goes.

Drive to saginaw and I'll take a look at it. I don't know what would cost more... getting a local shop to look at it or the gas to get it here.

skory is the only decent shop here and even then their installs arent good, one installer who had a 91 cougar wanted to put a alarm in it and was telling me that it is too hard to do in that car, and offered me $100 to do it for him, i told him no, but that was also before i knew what i was doing. but i will let you know.

sounds like a bypass issue to me to, try puttin the key in the ignition then hittin the remote start if it works its the ring that goes around the ignition thats the problem if it dont i have no idea, hope it works so you dont got to spend alot more money

If it was a bypass issue activation input tapped twice to ground... you would ATLEAST hear the relay pack clicking... or there would be shutdown diagnostics.

WELL I GOT IT FIXED!! in this case a test light was good. some reason when i did the neutral safety wire it never worked my buddy tested it and said no ground and just like that it worked. pissed me off because it was a small stupid issue that some how didnt work for me. and got the door pins to work. thanks for the help guys i guess i will be getting me a test light.

Glad you got it figured out. It usually is something small when it comes to remote starts working correctly.
