Gay men are tortured in high school; why do you think that most of them come out of the closet afterward? A friend of mine came out two weeks before we got out of high school, and he was pushed around until he moved away for college. yeah im sure there is one or two out there that are that way..but the vast majority are in it for the attention... i dont care what u say..ive seen it with my own 2 eyes.

How can you possibly say that? Being gay isn't like being a hipster, a wigger, or a goth. It's not a fashion statement. It's their ****** orientation, and you saying they do it for attention makes you look either incredibly ignorant or **********. Of every gay person I've ever met, talked to, or befriended, none of them have "been gay" for attention.

While there might be a few people pretending to be gay for attention, gayness, and the bending of gender roles in general, is so incredibly taboo in the United States that no sane person would pretend to be gay. Being gay is harder than being black. It's harder than being fat, or ugly. To the majority of the people in the United States(Judeo-Christians, Catholics, etc.), being gay is blasphemous. Getting married is against the law. Regardless of what you think, or what you say, the majority of the gays you see in public were gay since birth(or whenever they figured it out), and they've had to go through hardship of which you can't imagine.

There are many more gays pretending to be straight, and fulfilling lives as such than there are heteros pretending to be gay.

Well having a gay brother and a gay brother-in-law (not together), I can tell you that it's not for attention. My brother tried to kill himself because he was bullied over something he had no control over. My brother-in-law said he thought about it so many times, but never did because he had a supportive family and group of friends. If you watch videos of both you can tell they were gave since birth. It's not a choice and it's can't be prayed away. I'm sure there are those who thinks its cool and they do it to get attention, but I'd day 99% of the gay people you see are gay.
