has anyone owned or heard of AAs mid bass woofer....iv got a assassin 12 and im impressed with there quality for such a good price but i was wondering how these speakers sounded.

would you guys suggest putting them in my doors and then getting some crossovers and tweets to go with them or instead just get the alpine type r comp set?

yes. you can get a really nice component set from AA for ~140 shipped. it comes with a pair of 6.5" midbass, and the vifa xt25c tweets. they do not come with crossovers, so you would either have to make your own or go active. i chose to go active. there are a couple other ppl-ucp for example-that chose to do the same thing with the same components.

ok that solves my problem of what i want to get but as far as how to hook it up im not clear on. you said they dont come with crossovers so i could get some or hook them up active. can you explain to me what active is and how i would hook them up like this because i dont want to have to spend the extra money on a x-over. (thanks for all your help)

To go active you will need an active crossover either in the deck or an outboard crossover and 2 amps or a 4 channel amp. Easiest way is to get a passive crossover. you can get them off ebay for reasonable prices.

you can also get the active crossovers for cheap on ebay. i picked up my alpine 3673 off ebay for ~60 bucks. you would need a good 4 chann amp for the components... an orion 8004 is a perfect match for the components, and i have one being shipped to me right now.
