Going to get a couple of 8 inch subs because of limited space in my truck. Each one will be in their own sealed box. My amp is a Hifonics BX1000D mono. Looking at either Ascendant Audio Assassins (they are single 4 ohm woofers) or Elemental Designs 9kv.2's (they are dual 4 ohm woofers). ???-Any Recommendations-???

Yea, I like the Assassins too. But will my amp be too much power for them? Amp is rated for 700 watts rms @ 2 ohms x1. Amp will be seeing a 2 ohm load from the 2 subs.--???

I spent some time with the eD sub, not by heresay. The 9kv.3 is a near perfect sub SQ wise, however the output leaves more to be desired. It also come in Dual 2 ohm configs...

Buy one of each and demo them. Then once you know which you like the best buy the second one.

Go with the AA!! lol..... If you were able to go ported the AA would knock your socks off. I've personally owned both but at the current time have a pair of AA's sitting in my rear deck, I never hooked up the eD's. Both are very well made, the AA's are beefier no doubt.

700 rms is just fine, better to have head room than to be underpowering.

AA Assassins HANDS DOWN! I've owned both! it will take 350 a piece with EASE!!! chad himself said it should be able to take up to 500 if u know what you're doing...

eD has good sq as well but output is not comparable to the aa's!

Soooo...
Anyone have any experience with AA's Arsenal subs? How do they compare to the Assassains? Are they worth the extra money?
i'd try the SSD's before an arsenal...

heard they were good, but for $200, you can get something else thats better...

FWIW, I am running a 2100HCCA bridged on a pair of 8" Assassins. Output is comparable to my older XXX 12 with a 250HCCA bridged on it. Possibly louder. Both setups are/were ported SQ enclosures. The Assassins don't seem to mind a lot of power at all.
how many watts does that put out to each sub and who makes it?

Rated output is 800W bridged into 2 ohms (it's WAY under-rated at that) and it was made by Orion back when they were part of ADST not DEI. You can find them used on eBay but you will pay a lot for one and they are not in the least bit efficient. Botom line don't boher trying to find one thinking that you will get good bang for the buck. Go with a newer Class D amp.

My point was the Assassins will handle power well as long as the amp isn't clipping so don't worry about running an amp rated at 800W to the pair.

I will have the 8 inch Assassins in their own sealed box under the front bucket seats in my Jeep. My question is , should they be downward firing(into the floor) or upward firing(into the seat)???
