Down the drain, just like XBL2 has. Seems like not to long ago XBL was teh hot shit motor tech, and everyone wanted to use it. Now everyone is trying to get away from it and its bull royalties.
Im a lil confused tho. Did Scott build for Ascendant all along and they just ditched the xbl or is chad going back to Scott for builds?
XBL^2 is good stuff. But because Dan charges so much for the licensing to the build houses the price per performance becomes rather expensive so companies have one of two options, cut profit or raise prices.

What XBL^2 acheives can be done other ways. Split coil and LMT are two ways. LMT is basically an overhung motor with XBL in reverse. ie, extra windings on the end of the coil instead of extra gaps on the ends of the motor. Then there is the good old fasioned, well designed, overhung woofer.

Destijl was AA's buildhouse, for 1st gen woofers.

Didnt AA get their XBL licesnsing through the build house and not directly through adire?

Well, they will play louder than the Avalanches in every aspect. The low end is even more unbearable with the HaVocs:) , but the higher frequencies get alot louder than the Avalanches did at the higher notes. Louder in every aspect.
For whatever reason XBL woofers tend to be bottom heavy. Not nessicarily a bad thing at all. The motor topography doesnt determine this, but every one I've heard or used has been that way.

Do you really believe this drivel?
1. The build house buids what the speaker manufacturer asks for. Sometimes they offer engineering services, but I know for a fact that Dan designed all his speakers.

2. Just because you have never seen the Parthenon, doesn't mean it doesn't exist. There are pictures and videos on the web proving it does exist, in working order.

3. You really should talk to Scott, or the engineers at Eminence before making such claims.

4. If XBL^2 was a rip-off of other technologies, then a patent wouldn't have been given. The patent office does extensive research on each technology applying for a patent to be sure it is an original idea. That's the reason why it took so long to get approved. This fact shows how fabricated your above claims are.
Yea your right Dan did design all of his speakers since eminence already had **** near the same things as shivas and tempests, tumults and brahma extremes resemble RE drivers that were already out.....oh wait they are the same thing. And brahmas well who cares they were always inferior to Avalanches and XXX's. Nothing against you Stephen, but I just think Dan likes to take all the credit for being this genius because he holds the patent to xbl^2. He's always coming on the boards (mostly CS.org) acting like this bigwig when half the shit that comes out of his mouth is bullshit, SPECIALLY regarding xbl^2. Now answer me this. If Dan designed all of his own speakers thus far then why in the hell are the speakers that he is finally designing and building falling apart? Seriously I respected Adire when they had product with the brahmas, tempests, shivas ect.... but since then Adire has been a joke offering nothing but drivers that break and horrible customer service. I mean honestly how hard is it to get parts for all the broken brahmas that people waited months and months and months to get fixed. Scott was in business I know the parts were available. As for the parthenon I'm not going to argue, I have seen that it moves, but them spiders..... get outa here does it make a loud squeaky noise every time it moves? And lets just put this big huge heavy board on a driver and claim it makes this rediculous bass and pass it of as the greatest thing ever. Just because a video shows it moving doesn't mean it does what it is said to. But like I said this is nothing against you this is just one consumers opinion.

I don't care about all the little things that people are arguing about, but im happy that ascendant is going to be bringing some more stuff to the table, and I have faith that they will remain the same ol' AA that I've always loved.. but time will tell I guess.

i would just like to know whats their turn around time on recones/repairs. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

But Fi is SO inferior... it's the flavor of the month //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

This was just the ignorance I was talking about in the other thread.

i've heared this is because the cone has a high mass so its weighed down. glad to hear something is happening with AA, for awhile i was beginning to wonder.
