i bought a beater pickup for $700. runs good and has cold air, auto ****** etc. 3.9L v6. its ugly right now, but im doing a few things to it to make it more presentable, and thats it. as far as audio goes, im just going to eventually get a not too expensive HU, and a set of 6.5s and thats it. its a single cab, and im NOT doing a blow through, i bought a truck to have something that i can actually haul/put things in (unlike the Mini cooper lol)

anyways, heres a few pics of what i did yesterday. cost me a total of $30 and took about 45 minutes.

took out the nasty (really nasty) stock carpet. stained up, all kinds of shit in it etc...stunk so bad...so i threw it out.

a little rust

cleaned it up a little, scrubed down with a rough wire brush pad thing, and very strong degreaser.

let some rust inhibitor sit on the rust spots for about 15 minutes

and the door panels, seats, headliner, dash, everything is getting covered in tweed. i was gonna do vinyl, but its an old box truck, might as well stick with old school material. its easier to cover in tweed as well. im doing it all myself, except the seats and dash.

im going out of town for 4 days so the headliner is next up to be covered, but wont be covered until monday.

I'm guessing this will be a month or two long build?
prally

not really a "build", just recovering the interior pieces making it look nice

welcome to the dodge dakota club. what year is it?
88 lol

good work man
thanks

What should I do behind the seats? A few 8s maybe? Right now I think I'm gonna do a kicker zx850.4, and use the front channels on the mids, and the rear channels bridged @ 4 ohms, for about 425w rms for the sub/subs. Not much room to work with.

Another option is the eD nine.5...but isn't it discontinued? I want at least 100w rms per side to my pg rsd comps (ordered 2 sets)
