**** IT. I bought a laptop from this guy with like almost 100% rating.

I also payed 25 bucks extra to have it overnighted to me.

I also bought another stick of memory last night for it so I could upgrade it once it got here.

The laptop never came the day it was supposed to so he refunded me 25 dollars which was nice since it wasnt his fault...

After getting the laptop I ripped open the package and was happy as hell to finally have a laptop for my job (Network administrator).

Powered it on put in the wireless card, but it didnt recongize it so I installed the driver that came the card that he supplyed me.

Problem;

Restared the computer and got the famous Blue screen error saying there is a problem with the hard drive.

Restarted....restarted....restarted...ect....

I was just about to format and reinstall the OS thinking maybe it was a bad install. THEN i went online on my desktop and found this.....

HE KNOWINGLY bought the laptop from someone WHO SAID that there was a HUGE PROBLEM with it!

He then resold it RIGHT away with out anytime to even test it! And even if he did test it how the fawk can I have a problem within 5 minutes of turning it on.

Im so pissed he resold something that he knew had problems Im furious!

Any ideas what to do?

Here the email I just sent to him

At first when I ordered from you I was pumped about getting this laptop because of how fast you could ship it, and because my new job requires me to have a laptop (Network administrator). The shipping wasn't you fault but yet you still refunded me my 25 bucks back which was really nice of you. But here is the problem...

After having to reboot 6-7 times with the "blue screen error" I looked into this and saw that you bought this laptop from this person and then resold it without checking it. And if you checked it you most of not done a very good investigation. After booting up the FIRST time and only 5 minutes of having it on (With the packaging still sitting next to me from opening it not even moments before this) I restart the computer because the wireless card wasn't properly installed. Upon restarting I received the error, time after time, after time ect....

I am not very happy with this AT ALL because you knowingly resold a product that you bought with that problem. I wouldn't of had as much of a problem If you had sold it without knowing.

I don't want to have to give you bad feedback or maybe even go further. What do you think is a good idea to resolve this problem and ASAP...

I mean I also JUST bought laptop memory for this last night! That is how badly I have been relying on this laptop.

Any pictures, videos, paper work anything you want I will send you.

For the last 2 months the operating system (Windows XP) has crashed every two weeks or so during the day when I am at work. Then I have to shut it off, wait a day or so and turn it on or attempt to boot with the Windows XP disc the computer came with. I took it to a professional and he said that it is either the Operating system needs to be wiped out and reloaded or it could be a flaw in the hard drive which could be replaced for $50-100 for a similar sized had drive.
Last week I re-installed the operating system via a Microsoft Windows XP disk that I recently re-ordered from Dell and since then the computer hasn’t crashed. I did not wipe the hard disk clean before re-installing it as the tech told me might fix the problem. Regardless, I decided that I didn't want to waste any more of my business hours on this so I ordered a new one and will have it in a week. That said, this is a great piece of hardware for a great price and needs a minor level of TLC.

Right from the site.

Depends.

What I would do was probly reformat. Then, (if it worked) I would also try to work something out with him, maybe even more of a refund. If you want to take it further, file a complaint. if I didnt work after the reformat, try to work out a full refund, if he doesnt, file a complaint.

Hes selling like 12 other laptops, no matter what happens I need and want a working laptop, now.

The guy formated the laptop before he even bought it. Then supposedly he did again... so thats 2 times since the problem and its still doing it.

my idea is to get some shake and bake...cook up some chicken and rub it on your nipples that fixes everything
I see you're still as helpful as ever.. Can't you find a new place to annoy people with your stupidity.. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

Anyways, it sounds like you need a new hard drive.. The same thing happened to my lappy a while back.. You can pick them up for cheap these days.. Going after the seller will probably just lead to nothing but frustration, so I would chalk it up to experience and just pick up a new drive which I'm sure is going to solve your problem.. How much did you pay for this? I'm not sure if the link you posted was for your auction or the previous auction..

Jason,
Man, what a rough transaction this has been for both of us! First off, I fully apologize for the blue screen problem with the laptop. I thought I had fully fixed the problem when I first received the laptop...I kept it and used it regularly for days just to make sure no problems occurred. Of course, I didn't have a single problem with it and as soon as I sell it and ship it, problems occur again.

I don't run an elaborate ebay business or anything like that--I just buy and sell laptops to help pay for college. However, I do take it very seriously and I don't sell anything without fully testing it to the best of my ability. In addition, I have no intention of doing wrong by anybody. In this case, I'll definitely give you a full refund for the laptop. I can have the money together by Tuesday for the refund.

Once again, I do apologize for the inconvience this has caused.

Hmm.. he sounds honest enough.. Why not suggest a partial refund to cover the cost of a new drive? Just trying to think of ways you can get up and running the quickest..
At this point, why take the chance that it is the drive? It very well could be a flaky mainboard. I wouldn't rick it myself.

Hes been awesome so far but he also sells laptops as a living i was thinking to make it fair since he buys them for half as much as he sells them. Why not send this one back to him and get one of the other ones he has but alil nicer for my problems? is that fair?
