are these subs any good?

I am considering buying 2 xtant z104 subs with two truck boxes and a 2 channel Boss Klash 580 amp, and I was wondering if this is a decent setup for spending only about $230. Also should I install this myself or should I have a store like best buy or circuit city do it for me?

The subs are pretty decent, although I would guess most people on here would say check out Elemental design. I've heard a few models of Xtant subs, they all sounded pretty nice. The amp on the other hand *shakes his head* I wouldn't do it. Not really a high quality or mid quality amp. If your on a budget then so be it. But I would look around on eBay or elsewhere for a better priced amp. Other then that setup sounds nice.

How about a Avionixx AXA 400.2 it has 125x2 rms and its about $190, which is still within my budget. Thanks for the earlier reply, but what about installation? I am very bad at following instructions, but I always seem to prevail, but I wouldnt take that chance with my system.

Avionxx--I haven't used so I can't comment, I'm sure they are nice being that ED promotes them.

Install--I'd say go for it! Getting it done at least gets you a warranty, but there is something special to me about doing the work myself, knowing what and where every wire is. Gives you control of the system and its looks.

You can always ask here for help if you have problems too.
