i just purchased 2 SONY ES XS-L1255G subs and i am wondering if i got a good pair of subs. i am also wonderin how many watt amp i should get to juice them. im not very familiar with car audio, so as much help as possible would be apreciated. alos if anyone has any good sites which explain car audio (e.g. what the hell those **** abreviations mean!) thank you

normally i would say that mobile es is a good thing. i have a es head unit and a es amp and i'm very pleased with both. however, i can't say the same about their subs. i have heard them in the audio shop and they just didn't get loud when compared to other subs. the 12's they have hooked up aren't as loud as most of the tens they have. maybe in the right enclosure they would be okay, but from my experience i wouldn't recommend them:(

i just heard a set in a 4.5 cu ft ported enclosure and they were LOUD! if you don't mind having a back seat or trucnk then they will sound good.
