Are ported boxes louder then sealed?

Whats the real deal, If I have two ED 11KV2's ina ported box, and then a sealed box, which will be louder?

Which will sound better? I listn to everything, Metallica, Robert cray, Daughters ashley tisdale, wifes club crap etc..

if done right ported mainly because it uses both waves of the sub.

Correct english is "than" , not "then".

But to answer your question, yes, ported subs have considerably more output THAN sealed subs.

You can have a 3dB increase from a ported box compared to a sealed box.
