Are Alphasonik amps any good?

I am looking at the Alphasonik PMA1200DA -- Class D Monoblock Amplifier. I just wanted to know if they were CEA compliant, if not do they put out close to what they say. And how do they hold up? How reliable and durable are they?

They're ok not like top notch stuff and im sure that their not cea compliant kenwood , jbl, RF, just to name a few are cea compliant i use jbl good quality for what i need.

I have a BNIB one that i jus got back from alphasonik. i had it for a year and it did the job ver well. Barley got hot and pushed my 15" Treo CSX(when i had it) nicely. By the way for the right price i would sell it BNIB.PM for details

alphasonik amps are great i had a 300hca running 2 12" psw812s and it knocked hard. no overheating or cut offs its a good amp. although alphasonik is basically the same company as audiobahn this is the best of what they make. i agree about auidobahn haters but as for the alphasonik products im amazed. right now im running 2 900 series alphasoniks and man i love em.

I hope they can do rated since price, 800DA @ 1ohm is 1684RMS but uses 90A......

Does it necessarily mean if fuse is small it wont do rated?

well, the fuse is usually a bit over the maximum current draw of the amp, so it'll only blow if something's WRONG, such as a short, or a blown channel

and since even at 100% efficiency (impossible) it's only possible to make just under 1300w rms on 14.4v with a 90A fuse, i'd say that's a pretty strong indicator that it doesn't make as much power as it says

My friend has an A/B Alphasonik amp and the shit is always overheating, if he play the system for more than 30 minutes it will over heat. And they're majorly overrated. You get what you pay for.

they will not do rated power, if they do then it'll prolly be distorted and not clean since rms is UNDISTORTED and that's what they use, i'd say their 100 watts overrated from their specs they give the amps.

I know of one a/b amp fused at 2x30A that was professionally benchtested @900w+

90A worth of fuse protection will have no problem at all passing 180A for a few seconds. The only time an efficient 1600w amp "should" blow 90A fuses is playing test tones a maximum power for several seconds. If those conditions are what the engineer wanted to protect the amp from, the 90A seems perfect for that size of amp.

I'm not saying the amp is definitely accurately rated, but just because it has 90A fuse doesn't mean it can't do what it says.

i had a Kenwood 7201 with a 40 amp fuse and it was benched at 800 watts, i guess it should have been a 80 amp fuse atleast, i see how amp makers sell their products, i'll take an underrated amp anyday //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Talked to an certified dealer which does not sell them anymore an said they have never heard or had complaints with them. In fact they said PMA(800DA) an above are UNDERRATED. Isnt MCD1000 under 120A?
