Are 90% Of Today's Car Amps The Same

I am pretty sure PPI actually was the first company to offer water cooling. They offered a kit with the addition of the art series due to lack of heatsink fins.

It was pretty cool until the lines leaked.

These days none of the car companies are doing anything innovative with amps like they used to. We need a good old fashioned company in the US to bring back some creativity with car audio again.

I have an amp that I could mod a little bit to water cool. xD No reason to though, seeing that it is not going to be used in competitions. The channels are parallel to the fets, on the other side of the 1/8" alu. xD Pointless, just a 2kW amp.

I guess there are no companies doing any full-range class D amplifiers.

Yeah, but it took them a while to get there;) If one thought in terms of innovation with computer processor development, it REALLY took them a long time to get there:eek:

ETA: I just have to face reality here. No one really cares about all of us who are into car audio except a select few companies. Pretty sad when you think about it.

Those sure look familiar //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

*DO NOT* underestimate the Walmart monster and other big box stores. Things are slow and they are constantly looking for profitable products and product brands. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
imagine if they started to intall car audio there? bring your car in for a oil change and a amp installed!

My Lanzar Optidrive (ZED) 100.4 and 1000.1D have the best and heaviest heatsinks that I have ever seen. Even in 90 degrees weather those amps never got hot. Those amps were made after Soundaround bought Lanzar but were still made in the USA by Steve Mantz of ZED. The internals on those amps are beautiful.

The latest industry rumor that I heard is that Pep Boys will be carrying Kicker AND doing car audio installations;) Just think, all the ricers will have a one stop shop now:laugh:
