Are 3 ports better than 2?

Before I get criticized, please let me explain;)

Im not an expert in the science of boxes, but my box is on the smaller/average size for the 15" subs Im using. I have two 6" ports at the moment tuned to around 34Hz. I was hoping to go up to a single 8 or 10" but a custom made port shipped up here to Caanda is gonna cost me $150 plus!

So if I added a third 6" port, which can be had up here easily for cheap and had the box tuned the same, eventhough Im losing internal space by adding another port, would I feel a difference in the bass having a different effect since more air would be exiting the box with 3 aeroports instead on 2?

I judt feel that I could get more from the subs. They pound pretty good right now, but when I get to a certain level of volume, it feels/sounds like they peaked. Not sure the exact audio term for that

It could be worthless to do, but I thought Id ask

Thanks!!!

You could use a Sonotube as your port, then add wood accordingly then "flare" it out with a router, very simple and easy to do, if you have homedepots in your area or any construction supply store, they have 6, 8 and 10" "concrete sonotubes" easy to work with I use them.

Just a thought.

Thx! yeah thats an idea too

But for an amateur builder like myself, installing another 6" aeroport would be preferable depending if its worth the hassle over two 6" ports
