AQ vs DD

Hdc310 gets loud. I have heard one off of 2k and it was beggin for more. I have never heard a 9510 but I would imagine it would be very similar. Cant go wrong with either but the HDC is mucho cheaper so the choice is yours...

so after 3 days of work and building a box its official that i can NOT fit a box for a hdc or 9500 10" sub (they are both just about 10.5" tall) Now i'm looking into using TWO 8"s Question not goes to, Who has a GREAT EIGHT ?

I like both companies but unless AQ changed there spiders there is no way they are better then DD spiders... And about the cones I would say they are about even... The dd cone is equal to the AQ if not a lil better... Very similar subs. I have owned both and both get loud I would have to give DD the edge in sound quality.... Like i said cant got wrong with either
The copper coil AQ has china spiders. They aren't as good, but they are the best you can get in china. The aluminum coil AQ is now being built in house at DD, and has the same spiders as a DD....just like the original HD3 had.

The AQ cone is stronger. Period. It is heavier than the DD cone though, and that's not really a good thing. If you upgrade to the DD composite cone, then it is stronger than the AQ cone and lighter both, but the standard paper DD cone is weaker. It's really not an issue on the DD sub, unless you have a rediculous amount of power. I've put over 4kw on the standard paper cones with no issues.

Like everyone has said, both subs are awesome. They each have their strong points. The DD is a better sub all in all, but the margin is fairly small. IMO smaller than the price difference.

DD spares no expense in the quality of parts and construction of their subs. They offer tons of options and hand build each sub. This is expensive and you have to pay for it.

If money is no object DD is the way to go. If you don't have the coin then AQ is a very good way to go. The AQ copper series subs use the very best parts and construction methods available off shore and are priced to reflect the cheaper build cost available in China. The HDC3 aluminum coil versions are hand built with American glues, spiders and coils and prices reflect the increased build costs.

AQ subs with the exception of the aluminum coil HDC series are built and priced to compete with subs built offshore or assembled from off shore parts the same as the majority of subs offered in todays market.

I have build both subs for years and I would always buy the DD if possible. There are some things the Chinese just don't do as well as DD and attention to detail is one of many, that's why we do final assembly and QC each AQ sub in "house". There are also some things AQ is not going to share with our Chinese partners; that's why we build the HDC aluminum coil versions in house and use American glues, spiders, coils and our own assembly methods.

Lets face it, if you teach the Chinese a new trick they quickly sell it to everyone else and quicker then you can blink your eye a lot of subs start looking like yours, at least on first glance.
