AQ HDC4-15 or DC XL-15

Irrelevant sir. I want a 15 so that way I can really crush the lows.

Do you ever even have to charge it? Also, how much power are you using?
box will determine how low you can go //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

Adding batteries can hurt the alt ie if you discharge the batteries the alt has to try to charge the batteries and power the car/woofer..Chances are your going to have some serious voltage drop drawing 3kw from the alt and battery..

What the stock output in amps(alt)?

If you have a 120 you might beagle to get away with adding another battery.. Any less than that get a alt..
I think it's actually a 125 brand new, but my car has 130,000 miles, so god knows how many amps it actually cranks out. Also, I would only be pushing 2,200 watts anyway, so where does that leave me?

You willing to get a high output unit I highly recommend it..You might find a 200 for around 250..

What car u have?
I have a 2000 oldsmobile intrigue, and I don't plan on having it for too much longer, maybe a couple more years. So, I don't really wanna get into that stuff...

He doesn't want to put 2500 in a system..

nor does he have the knowledge to utilize a 2500 dollar system..

And if I'd suggest something to slam I'd recommend 2 15 over a single highend 15 he has the space..

If your not going to do any extensive electrical mods you might just settle for a pair of 15s or treo of 12s with closer to 1500..

While it will power the 2200 your going to have some voltage drop where as it would be minimal with a good 1500 and more come area..

He wants a single 15 in his trunk . . . not 2 15's in a wall here bud. The car aint quite that big //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

All I know right now is that it is 17.25 inches tall at the very lowest point(which is actually just a bolt sticking out), and about 37 inches wide in the narrowest portion of the trunk(It gets narrower the farther you go).

can you fit 37" wide through the trunk or rear seat opening? that's what matters unless you plan to build inside the trunk.

I'd stay around 1500watts since you don't want to run an HO alt and do a single 15 or 2 12's that will do best off that level of power.

I want to put it IN the trunk, and I shouldn't have to build it inside of it. The opening of the trunk is like at least 50'' wide, so I think im fine. But ya, I'd say 1500 watts is about right. It's still a pretty big upgrade from my 600...
