AQ 2.5 vs AB XD

Sup foks, new guy here so sorry if this has been brought up before. But, I am looking for some outside opinions on some 12's to replace my current set up. I have a Team Northeast SPL comp coming up and plan to run my 2x 12' Memphis M3's in slot port box with my Memphis MDC1000 in the Rookie 2 class. I am thinking of selling the M3's once the comp is over and switching to either 2 of the AudioQue 2.5's or American Bass XD 12's (good subs to stay in the class i like to compete in without having to get a new amp). Does anybody have some educational advice on which sub they think would be better for SPL? I'm kind of torn on this one because they both are pretty good IMO and are in my price range of not braking the bank.

Any expert advice would be great, thanks

Well I gotta say that I am watching for replies because I am thinking about starting to compete in SPL, so I am gathering all information I can, sooo for that I appreciate you bringing this up.

personally i have never and i mean never seen the audioque woofers in competition ,maybe there is a reason ,dont know. but the ab woofers are very much spl oriented woofers .i know the audioques will get loud as with any woofer in the right application ,but dont know how well they will do under stress.

Thanks mylows10. Ive seen the AQ's in action but never the XD's LOL. The AQ's can get real loud and are a pretty solid made woofer but I only know AB amps really, never messed with anything else from them.

the AQ and AB are really about the same quality and both with get just as loud. You're compairing apples to apples.

Like I said before, I'm trying to stay in a lower competing class. I don't want to go huge and take up space in my explorer when I have a kid. I play within my constraints. What I want to know is people's opinions on one over the other. If you plan to buy a blueray player, would you not want to know the pros and cons of each before you buy? Some people on this forum are just not helpful in the least.

I know the AB HD is the AQ HDC3 and maybe the VFL is the HDC4?

If I wanted to go big id just get two DD 9500's and run each one off of their own AB 150.1's but im not trying to blow out my daily commuters windows at every show
