Anyone remember that crazy spinning Typhoon sub (or something like that)??

They did, and I imagine still do, sound very good. The production models had a problem with air leakage past the "vanes" in sealed enclosures, which led to many problems and rumours about their performance. Very innovative idea, just wish they would have listened to Mr. Danley (he knows his subs!)

I had that thing. I had two of them but sold one and installed the other in my truck at the time with 2 12" solo barics. That sub rocked! It didn't hit though. If you listened to club music with snappy bass it popped or made a weird sound. Hip hop music was it's strong point. It kinda rolled bass out of it. It would go so low i cannot really describe it. I had it in a 2.5cf sealed enclosure. It takes up a lot of room. I have a pic of the setup somwhere....have to find it.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I had a chance back in 2004 to get a hand on two cyclones for a $100 a piece, I just didn't have the money. I remember someone on this forum attempted to create their own servo driver using mdf I believe, this was quite a long ways back. Just taking a stroll down memory lane, the reason I signed up for ca.com back in '04 was searching for a diy version of servo drivers. If only I can get my hands on a servo driver.

I also believe that the patents for servo's is held by one person who created the design, but I don't remember who it was and what their site is. The guy has on his website, 2 18" servo drivers in a horn.

PG recommended 4cf. sealed for that driver, and it was meant to play frequencies 50 Hz and and lower. I also can't believe why you would want to sell those, those would be a great part of any audiophile or diyer collection.
