I think it was Phoenix Gold, put out this crazy spinning driver that was meant to replace a subwoofer, right around the time that Cerwin-Vega first started doing their stroker. I remember it just being a crazy concept. I was talking to one of my buddies about it the other day but haven't found much about it.

I remember those //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif they looked cool
You must be old like me *lol*.

I'm digging around Google and can't seem to find anything on it. I could be wrong on the name (is it "Tornado" or something?).

If you or anyone comes across a link, please post. It would be a total blast from the past!

i remember seeing it and seen some tv show that had some info on it.. if i remember right they said that it sapressed his hearing b4 it got to the 30hrtz zone. also said that with a/c on it pulled hella voltage from the bat. but over all said was a nice set up.

The car that I entered in my first dB Drag Racing competition was equiped entirely with Phoenix Gold Car Audio. They started out as a small business in Oregon, producing high quality car audio gear. Over the years they have come up with some of the most innovative designs including the PG Cyclone subwoofer. It is one of the only subwoofers made that has a stationary coil and a moving magnet, as opposed to a stationary magnet and a moving coil.

**** it picture didnt pop up

This is from the same company that produced amplifiers that cost as much as a whole new car, and apparently some people bought them. I think $800 for a "banned" subwoofer would be a sweet thing to add to a sig' (not to mention an experimental extreme audio system), am I right? Compared to the cost of some of the conventional woofs, that's not too terrible.

I vaguely remember PG claiming that a single 12" Cyclone could easily replace "3"? 15" high-quality conventional subwoofers in output. Does that sound about right?

It's been a REALLY long time, and I've burned my brain out on non-car-audio information since those dayz.
