anyone play guitar? input needed

As of late, I've kind of lost the spark that I used to have for my guitar. I don't play it as much and I hardly ever play for long periods of times anymore. Anyways, I went to a new guitar store we just got in town not to long ago and man that place was awesome. I was like a little kid going into Toys r us playing with everything I could for an hour and a half. So to the point, I've got the spark to pick up a few new items but I'd like some other peoples opinions first.

First, i'm really in need of a new amp setup. I used to have a Crate dx212 but it's just gay now. I'd like to know what some of you guys play on or what you've had exp with. Any brands are welcome, combos, stacks are all fine.

if it's a combo I've got about a 1000 dollar limit, stack I'd be willing to pay about 1k just for the head and about 500 for the cab.

2nd, I really wanna pick up some nice effects pedals. I really like the effects that Mike from incubus uses, or the mars volta. Does anyone have some pedal boards that they made that they could share ideas with me? I'd really like to hear from others what has worked for them to come up with some cool setups/sounds.

I went to a store today and looked into a peavey XXX head and it's pretty mean. I want to try the jsx head and see how it sounds compared to it. I also got to play around with a line 6 pedal, forgot the model, but it was pretty sweet. The line 6 pedal def reminds me of a boss gt-3 if anyones played with those before, I'm probably gonna pick this line 6 up it's very user friendly and easy to tweak.

if anyoen has exp with heads and cabs though I could really use your input. I'm looking for something with pretty nice reverb for that classic fender sound, but something with a pretty powerful metal sound. It won't matter to much since I have a pedal, but I still need input. I can't afford messa so don't rec. that please.

I've been playing for about 7 years now. I actually need to sell a bunch of stuff. I have those 2 amps, 5 or 6 effects pedals, pedal power supply unit, a bunch of patch cables... and I guess that's about it now. Honestly I haven't touched much of it over the past year, but I did bring my ESP and the Peavey amp to school with me.

I actually replied to you yesterday but it didt post for some reason.

I would look into a Fender cyber-twin or deville. Both are great amps. Both can and will get loud. I have a deville and love it for small shows and practice. Its an awsome blues and jazz amp.

As far a effects. I like boss' digital stuff. ME-30 or a GT-4 you can get them used for cheap. They have new equivelents out now.

If you want to go analog, I personally like ibanez overdrive/distortion pedals, a cry-baby, and a delay of some sort.

sweet setup jntar. heh seems more people play then I thought.

I'm actually going to pick up my half stack today. after reading many many reviews between the tripple X head and the jsx I decided to go with the tripple x after playing on it yesturday. It sounded very very good and I don't see any point paying an extra 200 bucks for joe satrianis signature head, althought reviews did say the clean channel was a little warmer sounding and a little better. I think I'm also going to go with a line 6 pod-xt. I've been used to playing a Gt-3 and I think this line 6 is just so much easier to tweak then a gt-3.

jntar we still need to jam man, 4 hours isn't that bad =P.

sorry, I've been playing for about 5 years as well. I'm a little rusty though, I'm about to start taking lessons again to refresh what I've forgotten. I also need some new riffs for lead .
