Anyone let Best Buy/Circuit City install their system?

Alright, I'm heading out to my car now to try to install the HU and Speakers. Here's hoping I dont mess it all up.

good luck with that man. By the way...what kind of car is it? what year?does it have a premium sound quality system from the factory(i know they dont really exist, but does it have an amp is what im asking)? If so do you have the correct harnesses? If not the correct harnesses then do you have a tech sheet for your car? do you have the proper tools for pulling the door panels? Are the speaskers going to nead a trim ring because they are too deep and your window hits the magnet? Things someone should have pointed out or asked you before telling you to install it. Those answers and those resources are why you have someone else install it if you do not know how. Anyone can do it, but doing it right is what matters. I work at cc (installer for 6 months, sales for a year) and everyone else is right, its hit or miss at both places. Hope everything goes well

My god I didn't know there was so many CC installers on here... I'm at 3630... absolute worst store ever, I was at 3631 which was a ton better.

We have one panel popper(stolen from another store), no cordless drills, none of our air tools work, and one working soldering gun.

It is a 2005 Mazda3s. I installed the HU today and it works. I am going to try the speakers tomorrow based on the information on removing the door panels on this site:http://www.sounddomain.com/ride/495957/3
See, now that wasn't so hard was it? That's probably the hardest part of installing a whole system, simply because it is so easy but takes so long to do correctly //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

That's more $$$ in your pocket, do that for everything and you have just saved yourself a ton of money.

push the panel back so you can pop the clip holding the crank on the door.. use a rag or something (Im sure you dont have the proper tool)

do it slow or the clip will fly away never to be seen again..

but it could be held on by a screw in that case you would need to remove the cover of the crack(snapon) & unscrew it..

what kinda car would help..

T

I am gonna do the speakers in a couple of hours. The only part I am afraid of now is the amp installation since I have to use the distribution block (no idea how to connect them) and I have never worked with amps before.

BTW Troy, what gun is that on your cardomain page? It looks like a mix of an AK, MP5 and a scope.

Jump your manager's *** about it. If he doesnt listen go directly to the car audio manager. If still nothing go to your store manager. If that were the situation at my location, I would NOT use my own tools like I do at our location.

As it is I wonder is CC going to fit the bill for wrecking my 18v dewalt cordless??

Ever since CC took over the roadshop the whole thing has gone to hell and it is still going to hell despite their 'best' efforts.

I got 100 bux that says CC is going to dump the productivity based pay and follow BB's path and pay hourly only. And If that's the case I will quit that exact moment laughing my *** off at this company's idioticy... Its just a matter of time before CC bites the dust as a company. They are too dumb to think at the associate's level and that is what is biting them in the ***.

haha , yeah im noob alrite. its much harder with manual rollers. I have a toyota camry 94 that i am trying to take out. what do you mean push back? or push in? it seems like i have gotten all the clips on the outer edges and that ones spot(the window handle) is whats holding it back.

IIRC there is a steel clip that retains the window crank on the splined hub... The only other mounting system for window cranks is a T15 screw in the center, but the whole thing is covered by a shroud.

Just bring it by your local CC and ask them how to get the window crank off. They should come out and say "hey that's easy lemme help you out" and they should pop both off for you in under 3 minutes... If they take care of you (and they should) take care of them, toss a 5 his way or maybe a beer...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I hate those god **** pins in the window crank...

And to the guy that was saying his CC sucks and has no tools...we all have to use our own...we have "lost" 4 corless Dewalts over the last 6 months, we have one left, with no drillbits. We have 1 soldering iron, that is 25 years old, we have 1 pull down light working, and 0 pull down extention cords working. We have an extension cord plugged into the wall running down the middle of the shop for when we need it.

One of our 2 bay doors is broken, and won't open. We currently have no heat.

I could probably go on...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

wait wait wait - you guys get dewalts for shop use?? We have these POS 12v Skill drills which **** total azz... Dude make that last dewalt go missing and send it my way!! LOL JK

Everything hanging at our shop works just fine, just 2 of the reels dont ratchet which is somewhat irritating...lol What REALLY pisses me off are the two other installers that think they know how to sharpen drill bits when they dont have a f'in clue! About once a month I take the whole bin over to the bench grinder and resharpen them properly.

Atleast we have overhead lights and extension drops I guess. Ohh heat is a plus too I guess //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
