Anyone know why my speaker pops??

One of my JL audio 12" W3 dual voice coil 4 ohm subs is making a wierd noise when it hits, it just pops a little but, like its not like the speaker "plays" the noise it almost sounds like something is loose in there, someone told me the plate that is on the voice cool came unglued or somethine, any ideas? Im gonaa try to gut my box tommorrow and check irt out

could be the tinsels hitting the back of the cone.. could be a busted spider.... I'd check those two first..

I just gutted my box to check it out and didnt notice anything wrong so I hooked it all back up, and bam, no more popping!!! My geuss is there was a wire or something that worked its way near the cone enouch to wear it would hit the cone, I dunno though
