This thread is going to a strange place. Life is pain, no matter what class your in, I think you are going to suffer. War on the middle class, slaves in the lower class, even the rich have a magnitude of problems. You know my buddy cashed out a 401k for about 215,000 a few years ago and they took almost half in tax. I know that isn't "mega-rich" but still, taxes are insane when your VERY wealthy.

I hear ya on that. The top 10% of earners pay about 90% of all federal income taxes. Most of the millionares in this country are self made too btw. There are very few still left that come from "old money". Sucks when you start a buisness from scratch, living out of the back of a VW, going to school, and using the great resources of this country to educate yourself and become successful. 30 years later you have a multi-million dollar company employing possibly thousands of people, and you pay 30%+ of everything you make to the feds. Then on top of it, minimum wage is set to go up, which means possible lay-offs and cost cutting to cover the pay hike. Many low income earners don't even pay income taxes.

Oh..and back to the topic at hand. Not really positive yet about who i'll be voting for. Obama is alright, but quite frankly he's way too green to even be considered for president. I can't think of one bill he's been instrumental in passing that is worth a shit. Hillary's all for expanding the size of federal goverment to the point of suedo socialist status. I thought we were trying to shrink the size of the fed goverment, not expand it Regarding Edwards, If you read up on his past you'll see how he became legendary for his performances before juries. While building his $60 million fortune through theatrics and junk science, he became a tool of the malpractice industry. Lawyers needed only to threaten a doctor, hospital or insurance company with Edwards' name to frighten them into large settlements. Edwards and his cronies sued many of our best doctors out of business, and drove malpractice insurance so high that many doctors left the state. I really don't know at this point. What we really need is a better set of canidates, plain and simple.

why you have to pay taxes after you make it..

What do you think after you use up resources getting yourself ahead, that you shouldn't have to gove anything back? You already got yours, so fuk everyone else?

If thats the type of goverment you like, I would suggest moving to a socialist or communist goverment where your money is more efficiently collected and distributed to other classes of citizens. With very rare exception, people are where they are in their lives economically as a direct result of the decisions they have made up to that point. People are poor because they choose to be poor. People who are rich are that way because they work hard, achieve and are successful. If you go to college. you'll more than likely be paying back student loans for a number of years. The upside if that once you pay off these loans, you will have a successful career in which to raise a family.

People who work hard for a living in this country have the right to spend their income in ways THEY decide...like on the welfare of their family and assets. Not how the imperial federal goverment mandates they spend it. The role of the federal goverment is not, nor will ever be income redistribution (unless of course Hillary is elected). Speaking of bad life decisions, it's a good thing your living off your parent's socio-economic status, because with a BA in soc, your probably going to teaching my kids social studies in ten years. Don't be a assclown. Most people on these forums have had about enough of your high headed views on ways proper and your condescending attitude. If your serious about it, you need to take some initiative for real change, instead of dictating your socialist views of grandur onto other forum members from your computer chair. Your argument was that people use resources that are instrumental to their success, but then complain when they are asked to repay what they took through taxation. Espoused by you and claimed to be the American and just way, it is nothing more than selfish, greedy, and morally bankrupt ideology.
