Well If you think you want to join the AF because their more laid back go for it! In the Army, once you get to your REAL unit the PT sucks. We used to run "The Loop" which was 7 miles of hell . And if there wasnt shit to do that day our ***** were doing PT again at 1400-1500

IMO, paying taxes is supporting the troops.

i cant seem to find much information on the coast guard? why would the CG be a better choice for me than the AF?

that would be only your choice, which service you think fits you best. and what you wana gain out of it.

there types of people that go in to the service imo.

people who get in as a last resort and find it sucks, and wait it out until the contract is up

people who go in to get training for a career field they want

people who go in to serve their country and stay in for life until they retire

But in all honesty, the military is a pretty good place to learn a trade. The problem is, it's pretty military specific. People outside the gates don't think like people inside the gates.

am not in the AF but i am in the marine corps... ive met a lot of ppl in different branches and i've wanted to transfer to the AF but i can't... they say i've been trained "too rough" and taht i'd have to talk to a psychologist or whatever... all you really get outta the marine corps is REAL brotherhood n commoradity (however u spell it, marines are dumb anyways) AND braggin rights, marines "talk shit to other branches" thats it... AF is chill, u get treated better, is not as hard.. u wont be out in the field forever, better chance for education, better barracks.. better living conditions,, u get treated better.. so i say AF is ur choice if u wanna take advantage of benefits and not have to have a hard time... just my 2 cents.

in a way yeah, but if you are a doctor in the army, im sure you would have no problem being a doctor out of the army. I guess it's how you apply you self in the service.

my bro went in to the army as a Black Hawk mechanic then crew chief, now hes able to get in to the FBI and secrete service. still government but a lot better then a civilian job..
