hey that wouldnt be a bad idea. the few times ive gone out playing my music loud i get quite few head turns and even people cheering. i think people would like to check something like this out. especially since it would be so different from what they are used to.

yeah im a third year. i as planning to rush for dsp, you're still with them right? ive been trying to get more info from edgar, but that ****** has been sick or some ****, so havnt had a chance to see him since i got here or even talk to him much. where can i get more info for your guys' rush?

The dunes are at Pismo Beach (Oceano technically), about 15-20 mins from SLO. You'll find out soon enough, its quite popular for the Cal Poly students to go there on weekends. Basically you go down to the beach, it costs 5 bucks (day pass) to get on the beach (one of only 2 beaches in Cali you can drive on), then its about a 1.5 mile drive down the beach till you get to the Oceano Offroad Park, which is a state park that allows access for motorized vehicles to drive in the sand dunes that sprawl out from the beach. There is also camping.

The creek crossing...

Sometimes the creek does not break through to the ocean, sometimes its a small trickle like shown here... sometimes its 6-10 feet deep and you will not be able to cross it.

Here's a local with his whimsically modified VW bug (yes, the 'crank handle' on top turns just like a wind-up toy)...

And a small taste of the camping that goes on there...

You can camp right on the beach, or up in the dunes (there are bathrooms located in various places in the dune park). Some times of the year you will go there and barely see anyone at all, and other times of the year, like 4th of July, its like its own little city on the beach/dunes filled with 10's of thousands of people partying their ***** off.

God I miss the beach and dunes there. It... gets in your blood. Im planning on moving back in a few years. I cant wait. One of the most beautiful places in this country, and Ive been all over. In short, find a new friend with a 4x4, and get your butt to the dunes, you'll thank me later.

Tomorrow! come by Dexter lawn at 6 for food and to meet all the Fraternities, we will be there. Well i wont but wednesday a our 2nd rush event I will be there. Call edgar and make him go if he is not already. And come by and sign up on the interest list at our booth. Delta sigma Phi, not delta sigma pi. we will prolly be in white shirts with DSP in purple on the front. Go meet all the ***** and we cant take freshmen this quater only soph and up so you wont be with a bunch of young idiots. PM me if you want anyother info but honestly you can just talk to them and they will tell you everything.

definitely looks like fun. il ask around and see whos into it and see if i can make some friends to hit that spot up. never been off roading or in dunes before, so would be fun to do/check out for sure. pictures look great too.

its Mott gym lawn actually my bad. and everything is around 6 so you should be good but ask the guys tomorrow about what other stuff we have for the week. and talk to him like everyday haha

I use to work in SLO..lived in Los Osos for 2 years but now I'm back in Fresno. I travel to SLO every once in a while.
