right now i have my two sonicsoundlab transonic 10in subs running off a hifonics brutus 2100rms, wired to 1 ohm so aprox 1000rms each sub,

i have them in a obcon ported box 1.42 cubs each chamber tuned to aprox 42 hrz

my subs have never been pushed very far, i want to push more power to one of them so i can see what it can handle.

if i wire it up so one sub gets 1400rms (so says hifonics for wiring it at 2 ohms) will it sound like shat because i have the other chamber not being pressurised?

they share a port but they have different chambers, i guess im just asking if i turn off one of the subs will it make the other sound like **** because some of the preasur will be going into the other chamber and not out the port?

any insite would be cool. just bored and thinking how the subs can handle.

haha yes they have different chambers and the chamber connect into the port.

i think i will just do it and see how it sounds, im currious to see how much one will move. they are 7months old and still really stiff.

i would plug it into a socket exept for the fact that then i wouldnt have bass... maybe when i get my new DC subs i will do that with one of the sonic soundlab ones

from my understanding the other speaker not working would act like a passive radiator and create a much higher tuning bcuz its so heavy. You would have to seal off the other chamber but in doing so you would make your box smaller with a larger port creating again.. a much higher port/port area.

Short answer it wouldnt give you an accurate measure you need to make another box in order to do it right

im not doing this to make it louder! im doing it because my old subs seemed to move alot more, these two are incredably loud! i jsut want to see what it does on 1400rms insted of 1000.

and the sound quality is fairly well with the subs as is, im not worried about loosing SQ just want to exparament.

Hey man....do you like the ss subwoofers so far? Been hearing good things about them!
honestly i would never get rid of them if i didnt have a baby and need the room. they have been outstanding subs so far! 7 months of pounding and they are still nice and tight, i have them running over RMS rating, and they take all the power i can push at them (ecept for when i clip and even then they dont get very warm)(i used to clip them on acident because i didnt have a Volt meter and was more worried about making people cringe than listening to how the subs were playing)

in reality i will probly keep the subs and get one 12 so i can have the baby in there and still have room for her shat, but after she gets old enough to sit up front i am taking out the back bench and making a wall with SS subs, if two tens play as loud as these do then 6 of them in a larger box should be plesent...

check out my videos on youtube to see them.

costomer service from sonic soundlab is incredable! i will never buy from car audio shops up here again. they gave me a 15% discount just because shipping was going to rheme me!

i only have two complants, 1 they stay stiff to long, (7months and they still take alot to move when not in box) 2, after 4 months of playing the ground wire (tinsle going to coil) broke free of the push terminal, simple new ring and wire crimpers and its back to 120%

love these subs!
