Haven't heard the OZ's, and I've been trying to audition the 17Pro's for the past year. I ask the local Alpine dealers around here about once a month and they keep saying the 17Pro's won't be available for at least the next month, but to keep checking back. Grrrrrr.

Check back if you have not done so in the last couple of weeks. Worldre's shop has them, my local shop has them and they are on e-bay.

I just noticed, however, that those dam tweets are huge. I really don't want to have to deal with any modifications to place the tweets.

Yeah, that's the Scanspeak stuff... supposed to be pretty sick. A few Alpine dealers around here have them in stock but not on display... go effing figure. He did let me take them out of the box and check them out though... build quality looks super impressive. Kind of a different design on the x-over... the terminals are male spade connectors rather than screw-type. Never seen that before... everything looks solid though. I get paid tonight and am gonna go check them out again tomorrow morning and possibly scoop them up... it's between those or the HSK/MLK Hertz components. I'll let ya know what I think if I end up getting the Alpines.

Are you planning on running the Alpines active? If so, you could just get the Scanspeak woofer with a nice tweeter to go along with it and be set... might even come out cheaper than buying the components.

Thanks! Any idea which one of those is the most comparable to the one included with the SPX Pros? None of them look super familiar... and yes, I am going to run active I think.

we did an install the other day with a set of pros on a motorcycle. They sound very good...better then the refs and better then previous generations but i cannot say that i will be purchasing a set based on that. BTW power was a pdx 4.100. we may be doing an install on a set of pros in my boss's car next week though if he get it

it was a harley yeah it was cool and sounded fine standing still but i cant imagine them being worth much while moving

Those don't look like the tweeters I saw... now that I think of it, I don't think I saw the tweeters!! IIRC those are a version of the tweets that came with the F#1 set and the genesis absolutes

Alll I know is that th tweet is nearly 2" -- so that would mean some customizing for me.
