Anyone have any ideas here?

I made my own, just take out your current speakers and trace them, then trace over with the new speakers, then cut the outline. Drill holes from the original speaker to mount to car and drill holes to mount the speaker to the MDF.. use 3/4", aftermarket speakers are usually deaper than stock crap... here's what mine look like

what you have there is the original speaker mount (bottom plastic), the round peice of MDF that I screwed into the original plastic mount. it's inside dimension is 5 1/4" to fit the original, I later beveled the inside so the 6 1/2" speaker doesn't hit inside. The outside is made to fit the top peice which came with my speakers. Then I painted it all black so it looks good... I had to trim my door panel to fit it all together but the bump in size was well worth it...

If I had a car with wierder dimensions, like 4x8 or something I'd make a tutorial on how to make them, but mine just went from 5 1/4 to 6 1/2 round... plus I didn't take pictures the whole way through... heh... and that was nothin.. you should have seen what it took to make my g/f's beamer take the 5 1/4" Aura's... I used peice of thin plastic, all kinds of weird cutting with a dremel, backed with cardboard b/c it was too brittle... it took like 3 hours just to make the **** adapter, along with hours of shopping to find plastic and installing it was a biotch!
