why?how much are you playing for it?Alpine makes solid products, just make sure you buy it from a dealer-warranty.
Well I've had zero problems with my CDA-9887 knock on wood...OP if you're on somewhat of a budget, look into the Kenwood Excelon KDC-X693. All I hear are good things about it and it's MUCH cheaper than the Alpine HU's. I'm putting it in my explorer for my SPL build.Alpines will & can break down,So it always best to get a warranty on any headunit.
I went with the CDA-9885 in November 2007 for both of my vehicles because there were issues with the 9886 taking a while to access the ipod's content. I was told that issue was fixed in a later version of the 9886, but I never tried one to see.My other complaint is that the iPod controls are really slow. Push next, it takes a bit to react (my eclipse is immediate).
I wanted that unit, it looks awesome but the problem I've heard with those is the ipod search and loading is very slow and a huge setback.Well I've had zero problems with my CDA-9887 knock on wood...OP if you're on somewhat of a budget, look into the Kenwood Excelon KDC-X693. x2Do you not see the issue of the slow loading time?
I don't remember for sure, but I beleive mine was a mid 08 production. Still slow.I went with the CDA-9885 in November 2007 for both of my vehicles because there were issues with the 9886 taking a while to access the ipod's content.
