I have a 9886. Nice unit, but it sucks that it has no built in equalization to speak up. Bass and treble is all you get. Crossover is weak. If you need to equalize your sound, you'll have to get an additional "imprint" unit for like $150 or something. The 9855 had much better sound processing. My other complaint is that the iPod controls are really slow. Push next, it takes a bit to react (my eclipse is immediate). The 9886 does sound pretty good though without much equalization and is easy to use. Personally if I was doing it over with what I know now, I would go with a different head unit (probably a Clarion or Eclipse)
