anyone experiencing problems with GTA4?

I have been having problems with loading the game up.. Last night I couldnt get it to work for like 15 minutes.. It would start up and get stuck at "loading" forever so I restarted the system. It would work just fine until I paused the game, it froze, then I restarted the system once again and same thing happened AGAIN! I got really pissed and decided to take the disc out to examine it (it was flawless) and put it back in. I finally was able to play, but I'd say like 5 minutes later when I was on a mission, the game froze. I am like oh my god it is a brand new game and it wouldnt work, something is wrong! I decided to put Madden 08 in to see if it is fine and it loaded up perfectly(now I know it is the game, not the system, thank god). After putting Madden 08 in, GTA IV worked perfectly as I played for next 2-3 hours..

It kind of sucks since I was expecting none of this, but my friend who got one for PS3 said he is experiencing exactly same problems: stuck at "loading" at beginning of the game and freezing at pause. If this problem persists on my side, I will go back to gamestop to demand another copy.

P.S. I started up the game just now and it is stuck in "loading" jeez..

same thing happened to me, but on my xbox with midnight club: dub edition. It froze twice then the 3rd time it froze and soemhow it screwed up the lazer inside and had to buy a new system.

That same thing happen to me on gta SA on my 360... Most of the time it freezes on the loading screen.

MX vs ATV Untamed does the same thing to me only in one spot during the loading in event series. Hmmm.

Just found out that there might be some kind of glitch on 60GB PS3's with GTAIV (my PS3 is 60GB)

mine has been screwing up also. i heard somewhere that it has to do with the game trying to contact the servers, so i unplugged the internet connection, so far... no freeze... but its only been a few minutes...

yup.alot of ppl are having problems..mine hasnt had any..done beat the game..
