Got a kinetik 2400 batt today, used (for anyone who followed before, yes THAT one lol). It came from an spl competitor with a crap ton of these. Well thsi one has two ... posts ... added to the top. Screwed down and epoxied. When i read the voltage between the posts however, it only rwads 3 volts.. and the physical location of the posts is odd, not on the end, but in the center. Presumably explaning the lower voltage reading. Not sure about the internal design of these Kinetiks though, this is my first venture using them.

Anyway, here's the pics...

The batt on the left is one I purchased elsewhere.

You guys know whats up with this batt? Thanks.

those are modded kinetiks so you can run them at 12 or 16v.

1 post is 8v & the other is 4v,iirc

if you want to run them at 12v you'll need a jumper wire(3" peace of wire) to wire them in series

jntar & djman37 have a couple.

the 2 in the back

yea - they are modded for 18v electrical output.

you should not use them with regular 12v batteries to be honest. we had a bunch of them in our van.

know what you are buying before you pay for it.

the banks used 2 regular batts and 2 modded batteries. what /how you wire a bank is basically taking 4 6 cell batteries and making them into 3 8 cell batteries.

Ahhh... freakin photobucket. Lemme grab the pics again...

Yes, its exactly what Megalo showed in his pics, and what Audiolife and a few other described.

So... I MUST connect the two added terminals with a buss-bar or wire in order to get the standard voltage out of the stock posts?

Thanks for the info guys.
