Anyone ever been a sales person for one of those home product companies?

Well I need a summer job..I am kinda getting low on cash and am bored.. Was browsing through the classifieds and saw this ad

‘07 HS Grads

& COLLEGE

STUDENTS

Filling positions asap, $13.00 base/appt., flex scheds, FT/PT, customer sales/service, all ages 17+, cond. apply.

So I said what the hell and called. Chick didn't give me much info, just said I would be working with customers. Got an interview tonight at 6:00.

So I went to the company's website here.

Discovered I would be setting up appointments, going into peoples homes, and trying to sell those knives.

Anyone ever did anything like this before? I could really give a crap less what I am doing as long as I can make money for 2 months until I get my scholarship rebates back.

I went to the interview, was accepted to do it, then left. I'm not doing door to door knife sales in random peoples houses...

I really don't want to have to work at a restaurant.. wish i could find a job that was just manual labor. i like physical work

Serving jobs are the best way to make good money, well for students anyways.

i know a guy who made 5 k last summer selling those knives and he didn't sell one knife, don't know if its the same company but the one i know of pays you for every time a house allows you to do a presentation of the knives. And its like 10 bucks a house so all you have to do is get all your friends to let you give them a presentation.

I thought about that....but..

After reading the website, the people you present to have to be over 25.. I don't have many friends over 25. And this place pays $13 an appointment whether you sell or not.
